NEHTA/Mid-Atlantic Horticultural Therapy Network 2010 Joint Conference
The Conference Committee has been hard at work coordinating presenters and speakers for our upcoming “The Business of Horticultural Therapy” conference, scheduled for September 25th, 2010 at the Audubon Center in Greenwich, Connecticut.

This conference will focus on topics related to employment in the field of horticultural therapy including creating and managing a business, networking, grant writing, research, resources and funding.  We are pleased to announce that Martha Heinze, Executive Director of AHTA, will be our Keynote speaker.

The Audubon Center opened in 1942 as the National Audubon Society’s first environmental education center in the United States.  The 295-acre sanctuary has approximately seven miles of nature trails that lead to hardwood forest, old fields, lakes streams and vernal ponds. The Center serves as the site for the Quaker Ridge Hawk Watch to view the fall migration of raptors with the all-time record of 30,000+ counted in one day. The weekend of our conference is prime time for hawk watching, so for all of the birders in our group, make sure to bring your binoculars to view this extraordinary show of flight.
We have procured lodging at La Quinta Inn & Suites located in Armonk, NY at a great rate of $89/night.  A block of 25 rooms has been reserved under AHTA and room sharing will be coordinated for those who would like it.  Please mark your calendars and note that rooms need to be reserved in advance to take advantage of this rate.
We look forward to seeing you at this upcoming event!
