Seven Hills Foundation Day Habilitation Services

Seven Hills Family Services, an affiliate of Seven Hills Foundation provides Day Habilitation services in the community-based settings of Worcester and Devens. All programs offer integrated occupational, physical and speech therapy activities along with nursing and behavioral supports. Training is offered in functional life skills, health maintenance, fine and gross motor, self-direction, community utilization, socialization, and communication. The Day Habilitation program is accredited by CARF. Participants must be adults with developmental disabilities who have MassHealth coverage that pays for services. Private pay is accepted.
Individuals in the Day Habilitation program benefit from a holistic approach utilizing both a functional and therapeutic focus, which determines the specific clinical services provided. Individuals receive caser management services and have the opportunity to participate in a number of meaningful programs. Each Day Habilitation location provides an environment that reflects the needs, interests, abilities and desires of the participants. All locations have specialists trained to assist people who are aging or who have significant medical involvement. All participants are encouraged to maximize their participation and their potential with the assistance of our skilled staff.

The Horticulture Therapy program has been running since 1995 after the installation of an AHTA grant funded lean-to style greenhouse at the day habilitation site.  Since then we have added two day habilitation programs all having horticulture therapy as a component to their therapeutic and life skills curriculum.  The program offers outdoor raised planting beds, inside horticulture work rooms and one site has a newly installed greenhouse/sunroom.  The program has entered numerous flower shows through the years and has received recognition and awards for educational exhibition.
